Title: Death's Portrait
Name: Robert Melville
Country: United Kingdom
Software: Photoshop

A portrait of death in human form.

This was a fairly quick paint for me, about 4 hours. I've not done a portrait/facial close up for a long time so any tips or advice would be much appreciated.

I tried to get a 'stubbly' texture on his jaw area and to use subtle cool colours to show he is alive but in a slightly unreal way.

Great texturing and brushwork on the face and skin (especially the speckled texture overlay for the skin around the chin). The eyes are really cool. They give that cold, dark look you'd expect from death. Great job here.

love the character, really nicely done, I particularly like the subtle colouring.

My only crit would be the eyes. It would be nice to see death with white slightly blood shot eyes, almost blind but with a hint of a retina and pupil.

Apart form that its good, i like it.
