I saw this cool optical illusion trick on youtube.com
And wondered to myself if EI's reflections could get this illusion correct
in the rendering?????
I might try it to see, wanted to see what people more knowing about the renderer
had to say.... just Sh#ts and giggles....

Okies,

Now I'm not going to be happy until I see if a 3D app can make the same illusion. How would one test the illusion? You can't touch it anyway?

I was thinking that too, about not being able to touch it...but you and I were not able to touch the pig inthe video, andjust by looking at it the pig looked like it was really there...

So, I think what to look for in a 3d rendering is (if the scene is set up just like the video) where the pigs reflection shows up....

Might be fun to set up something to test.... will try this weekend if I can....

Maybe with an accurate model... I simply squeezed a hemisphere and added a free Turbosquid piggy.

Some explanations here:

Resulting movie (no floating piggy...)
