digitalp1mp 07-08-2003, 12:19 AM Hi, ive been a member here for awhile, and messed around with max on a friends computer quite abit, well i went ot E3 and talked to the Discreet people for awhile, well about 2 weeks ago they emailed me and asked me if i wanted a trial of 3dMax5 so i said yea...well i got it and i havent installed it yet...but whats the be best way to get good at building vehicles?? digitalp1mp, there's plenty of tutorials out there for vehicles. It really depends of the type of vehicle you want to make. The best way is usually to get the blue prints and work off those.
Check out the tutorial section on http://www.3dtotal.com/ to get you started. I believe there is a car tute on there.

i wasnt really looking for a tutorial...but kind of a...how did YOU guys start??

Well i'd guess many people here started by taking a look at help files and tutorials that come with the software, as well as looking out the web for resources on modeling, texturing and so on.
Take a look at other people's works for inspiration, make yourself a couple concept sketches and you're on your way !
