hey man, im not trying to be difficult, but all u have to do is search for "brazil vs vray vs finalrender vs mentalray vs whatever", this have been asked before, also if ur doin research, try puttin some effort, also try to make ur research practical!! like take a particular scene in max, n render it out in both the render engines, n see the time, quality, effort, complexity involved. put up statistical data, use excel to make some neat graphs, n ur renders will speak for themselves. cheers.
hope these links help ya...

If you familiar with brazil, go and get the free version of vray and later maybe the demo.
Test those renderer for yourself and don't listen to anybody who says "this one is better than that one", because they are all doing a great job. It only depends on what you like.

I've used and tested Vray , Brazil and Final render... for me , Brazil fits my requests about a renderer...its very fast and powerful..GI calculation and rendering is nearly same with Arnold Render..This is just my personal selection , you have to try by yourself and choose one..
(Please dont ask me about Arnold Render , I dont have it..confidential:rolleyes: )
