I really want to do a Norm character. Either Stalker or Invoker, I havent quite decided yet.
Anyways, I wish you all the best of luck.
Here is one of my first concepts of a stalker. I will draw some more characters and see where I end up..

great - nice to see some Norms, with all the Demons flying around ;) Looking good, though I'd try to vary the silhouette a bit more because it's a bit too much like a regular elf now IMHO.

Ive been playing a little around with making thumbnails...
I like a little with each character.. but Im unsure where I want to take this, and how "imba" I should make it look...
I want the silhouette to be good though

Nice sketches.. i liked first character "A" with some skulls on shoulder and weapon seems to have a better silhouette than the rest

Glad to see you again Marciah. I liked ver. D it's less Chun Li or Chan Li from streetfighters.
Also the number of swords in ver. D asumes that girl knows what's for dinner today and brought all her knives with her. ;)

Some of your concepts are very reminiscent of Assassins Creed just something to keep an eye out for.

Hi digi_est , long time no see! :) cant remember where I last met you ? Do remember your nick though! :D Im not here so often as I used to, Ive been working so much, private work suffers.
I really wanted to go for something agile as usual.. but I dont mind a mage either, a demon hunter or something! :D
I would like to point out that my drawing skills seems to finally have taken a little jump from sucking til actually being able to draw something that looks a little like what I want. . :P drawing every day pays off after a little while.. 5 weeks ago I wouldn't be able to do this ..

hi there , i like "A" as a silhouette and as a character she is looks the strongest and evil , also i like the "C" kinda sexy , and for "D" i like the back swords , so if u can try to make a mix between them , i think will look cool , but if u wanna only one , then "A" ,

Looking at the sketches, I would also say, that "A" is the most promising :)

Ive been playing around some with shapes.. but I think I might go back to scratch and planning out new ideas, cause I feel this is getting way to close to wow or warhammer game character....
I should either way start modeling next week..

its sort of a spider queen, the things on her head Im going to make into twigs and stuff..
give her som decent armor, and make her kinder looking, like a centaur only spiderish. ?
what do you guys think ?
note : I never tought in my wildest dreams I would be able to draw this! :)

I love the spider female mix always, looks good, just try not to make it look just like the 1 in Diablo 3 and your good to go =),

I'd say you're dangerously close to drider with that. Or the Spiderbabe monsters in Castlevania 64. Make the armor the priority of the design to try and push away from the Drider aspect and you should be fine.

Honestly I'm not a fan of such mutations. For me it's kinda typical - no offence - to mix human upper body with lower body of something else - centaur, harpy, sirens, mermaids, medusa and soo on. I can't really imagine armor on a spidergirl either..
What would look creepy is if you try to mix two upperbodies and think throu the anatomy of this beast ;)
ps: when you do the shadows - objects that are on the ground give a sharper shadows. and longer the shadow longer the gradien from darker point to lighter.

Nice sketches and concepts :) Think that spider queen is a nice idea, but you need to find a turn on the design, only a comment :) All the best and looking forward for more updates! Cheers!!

I cant remember the spider queen in diablo nor have I played castelvania 64 =)
but either way.. I went for ĺ much lighter look

hope you guys like the "new" approach..
the idea was to have wood growing out of her head.. I hope it will work out..

I don't know, man. It's still looking far too Driderish for me. A Drider is essentially a half Drow Elf, Half Spider creature found in the underdark of Dungeons & Dragons.
I think if you could crank up the emphasis on the armor and less on the form underneath, you could possibly remove yourself from the Drider comparisons. I didnt know what a drider was until a guy pointed it out for me early this morning on a norwegian forum.. I had no idea! :(

I don't think you really need an all new direction. As you said before, you wanted to armor this thing. Driders are rarely armored and usually only the torso. I think if you put emphasis on the heavily armored spider aspect, you should be fine. After all, Spiders are creepy as all get out, but an ARMORED SPIDER? Stuff of nightmares, man.

You know man, almost all the entries in the contest you can relate directly to another concept or idea, nowadays it is quite hard to come up with something that nobody has ever seen before but still flows nice, I am sure if you browsed other forums in the contest right now you would find a bunch of people who's demon-lords or whatever have the same silhouette as somebody's here. I agree with Sheppy, you should throw that armor on her and see how it looks before changing paths just yet.

here is the zbrush model.. Ive been playing a little around with the shape of the face, making it a little more friendly looking, sort of a druid creature, in comunication with the forest..
2 hours of work I think..

Hey mate nice quick sculpt :)
Only real thing i can see that I dont like is at the bottom of her abs you seem to have added like another small muscle, it looks a bit out of place IMO. Then again im sure this isnt youre final anatomy :)
As for the design yeah its pretty hard to not look like something else, Im pleasently suprised their arnt more Balrog copies to be honest.

that looks pretty promising. I only miss something "special" about her. She looks very much like the Drider sheepy mentioned before, not bad, but not really "special". On one scribble you mentioned the idea with the wood for her hair. Maybe you could play a bit more with this idea, for example add some wood elements, or make her legs a bit like trunks...

Im working on some others concepts right now, but Im quite sure this will be the one I will keep working on.. Ill add the wood elements to her head, and make some designs for the armor.. My mind has been working on this even though I havent been infront of the computer :)
