So I joined up here ages ago, never had the guts to post because I have some sort of inferioity complex. Got the email about DWIV and after reading through it, decided that even if everyone else was leagues ahead of me in terms of skill and experience, it'd make a dandy portfolio piece!

At the moment, I only have ideas, but any starting place is good, right?

16/3/09 11:53pm - ideas. Experimenting with shapes and whatnot. I'm generally more of an anime-style artist, though I'm hoping to keep that as far away from my entry as possible and come up with something that employers might actually look at

My main problem with these is that they look too boring. I'm deciding I think I'll lean towards either Norm or Demon, as I have more of a knack for organic objects. A few friend ssuggested plain silhouettes. I'm a bit new to this type of design, so I've got a lot to learn. I'll try them next post, I think.

Spider queen is a good angle, I like the six eyes.

I'd say (disgusting as it is) you should go trolling for good refs of frightening insects/spiders. I think that'll help you make something really strong.
