hi guys, first of all sorry for my poor english
i would try to explain it simply and clear

, im getting some annoying problem with scale and wrap deformers, the problem is :

- i have a skinned geometry (A) who deforms another surface (B)

when i use the direct scale of (A) wrap deform works properly on (B)
when i use the root joint to scale (A) wrap deform gets messy and do not work well.

iv tried to manage the scale of (B) grouping and constraint scale to the root joint and it gets double transformations.

im getting crazy with this, i need to finish a rig but im stuck.

i get a character with a lot of corrective blendshapes and make his t-shirt deforms with a wrap from his body, all works alright except the scale on the wrap.

if anyone have and idea how to solve this problem or an alternative i would be very thankful
greetings.

Hi..
Try check/uncheck the scale compensate tab in the attribute editor of all the joints.

hi,
I too agree with prem's suggestion. But remember one more thing, when it comes to scaling the rig, the skeleton scaling shouldn't happen from the root but instead from the origin or from the pivot point of your master controller. So there is no need to turn off the scale compensate...instead u can group the joint chain under an empty group with the same position as that of the master control.then give scale constraint from master control to the group.

Hi..

Rgds,

tryed, do not work.

and anoopak, im not getting problems with the rig it self, the problem y the geo wrap deformed by the skined geo.

i will try to upload some scene file to give a better example.

thanks for the answers.
i will keep trying^^

updated with an example scene of what the problem is.

If I am not mistaken, wrap deformers do not scale correctly. If you know scripting, or someone who does, you can extrapolate the weights from the wrap to the joints. This is as if it is bound to the joints, but with the matched weighting of your source geometry.
