View Full Version : I need a file transfer prog. betweeen MaX an LW

The thing is that i´m working now for a guy that works in LW so i need an aplication that alow me to export all the data in my max file to LW, because if i even try to just export the geometry to a 3ds file and then he opens it in LW there are a lot of problems.

Which is a good ap. for this, i supose it could hold the transfer of the textures, lights ect. but at least i would love to send him the geometry in good contitions since i´m mostly modeling for him.

There is a .lwo importer there.

You can also get a .obj import/export plugin. It's calle max2obj, and obj2max. Both free ware. Do a search on google.

.obj imports between max and lw well. My coworker uses lw, and I use max. We've used these plugins for a very long time without problems. Just note that the scale differences are huge. You will have to scale the object up in max and down in lw...I think.

Never use .3ds

We've had good luck with .vrml as well.
