This apparently is an old problem, or something... Anyway
I add a smooth to my polygon meshes, and lo and behold, the textures behave as if they're mapping to an unsmoothed mesh. That is to say, the lines i followed on the UV map are all clean and angular, the UVs become curvy and such.
There is the checkbox in the smooth dialoge box that asks 'smooth UVs' and such. Experimentation with that results in distorted, stretched UVs.
So... I want to know if there's an actual solution to this, a workaround, or do i have to modify my workflow, for example painting the texture using the smoothed UVs instead of the unsmoothed.
I've already found this: http://www.drone.org/tutorials/uv_smoothing.html , but the workaround suggested here no longer works (the script produces an error)
