View Full Version : Export Layer animation to another file
anibal187 03-11-2009, 05:40 PM Hi,
Is there a way to export the animation that I created in one layer to another layer in another file? I am animating in Layers on top of the skeleton, so I have no characters.
Thanks.

just save the file and merge it in to the other file.. it will load the animation.

Thanks. But what I wanna do here is just export the animation of the arms on one character (done in layers) to another guy´s arms in another file. I want to leave other parts of the body intact. The rig is the same though.

May be Story Tool could help you:
Right Click in the Action Track List (lower part) of the Story -> Insert Generic Animation Track, here in the Track Content chose preferred objects -> Right click on your track -> Insert Animation File. Don't forget to Turn On Story (on the upper left corner of the tool)

Thanks a lot! I selected "Process track/subtracks to New clip..." from right clicking the Generic animation track and baked the animation to a fbx file. Then I just imported it to the file I wanted to bring that animation.
