This image started out as an idea I had for the "Aliens" franchise. A Roman legion hunting and battling what they believe to be a dragon who is terrorizing the countryside. The Romans were highly organized proficient fighters and I felt that they might stand a chance against an alien queen. Well maybe.

I think i overworked the image, and relied way too much on the airbrush and zoom tool. It took me way too long to finish this painting, and although I like the image I do feel it would have benefited from being loose. As I mentioned in my previous posts I have a tendency to overwork my stuff, and push back against this when possible.

I used Sketchbook pro for the illustration but also messed around with the temperature in photoshop.

i like the image, the armor looks good. have the same problem with overworking an image.

Awesome concept! :thumbsup: Although, I don't think those poor dudes would have any hope against Her Majesty. ;)

Very nice execution though- nice, realistic colors and rendering. I do agree with you, however, that a looser style would probably give it more "edge". Of course, I'm a little biased on that one, since I tend to prefer the "speed painting" type stuff.

I think my main concern with the image is that the poses of the two Romans in front look a little stiff... Exaggerating them a bit would probably make the image that much more dynamic. The guy flying in the back is fine though. ;) Very dynamic.

LOL, fabulous! That guy flying through the air adds a boat-load of awesomeness! Nice work man.

Only thing the stands out is the amount of detail in many places doesn't match other areas. For instance, the attention to the armor and fabric is a lot greater than that of the Roman's legs, arms and shoes. If those areas are tightened up a little more the gestalt would be better I think.

Haha! this is great! I don't think the Romans would stand a chance against an Alien queen! yeah I agree with the others, would be nice to see a bit more texture in the landscape/ foreground areas. The characters are pretty good, nice job with the armour.

Nice idea and great concept. I like the colors and I donīt see it overdone.

Please bring more Alien stuff to life ;)
