Hiya,

Still kinda new to this forum, only contributed to the speed paint forum till now.

I'm planning a short as a demo reel, a lil funny one. Looks are suppose to be in between cartoony and realistic style, more cartoony guess :) Well anywayz, below is my character concept, working with him for a long time so be gentle on me, kinda attached too him by now  . Used him for getting to know 3dmax, including some character studio.

Dun comment on background, just wanted to show him properly so created quick environment. Also dun wonna bone him until done so dun mind the pose either. Well please let me know what you think, c&c much apreciated. He's note done yet, plan on working lot on facial design and he still need proper textures, maybe nice lil belly ;) Hope you like. Oh and yeah the long arms are on purpose :P

Here's some mroe detail btw, created in 3ds max 4 and now 5.1, textures done in ps but that's only the eyes for so far :) Used boxmodeling creating this one, you all use that too? The fac is so detailed in wired cause I meshsmoothed only face when in 1half mode so that I could work out more detail there. Well here some wires and lowpoly's

ok here is what i think...

first off all, he is still a bit boxy. you can see he is modeled out of a box.

maybey you should try to use some sort of toon shader because you want to create a toon style. also try to apply some gi on him or give him some proper lighting.

well good luck on him....
