Hey Guys,

I've been looking around but couldn't find anything on this kind of topic so I thought posting it around here would help me out.

I want the Median Noise radius to be controlled by the luminance of another picture. Something like what a lens blur does when using a 'depth map' of a 3D picture and that influences the amount of blur.

How can I setup such a link, start doing such calculations.. It's ok to somewhat get into some scripting for this, but I'm no professional at After Effects scripting.

If anyone has any tips, thoughts, ideas or anything to say about this just reply to the thread. Hope someone can help me himself, or even a link that would help me progress with this would be interesting.

Thanks in advance.
Roy.

PS.
Just using it as alpha matte (the luminance) does not provide me with the desired effect, I want the median noise radius to go down as luminance decreases, when luminance is used as matte it just makes the nosie somewhat transparent. Just to note this here for clearity.

Scripting? Pixel processing means writing plug-ins and has nothing to do with expressions or scripts. A modulatable Median Filter is contained in RevisionFX SmoothKit. Other than that of course these days you could write your own using Pixel Bender in CS4....
