and to celebrate I made a 3d model.
I've done a fair amount of low poly stuff, this is pretty much the first hi poly thing I have done. I like to jack around with realtime modelling and with the way things are going with normal maps and stuff I figured why not try out some high poly stuff. Tried to keep edge loops, quads where I could blah blah. Doesn't seem all that lifelike to me is the problem. Plus, I don't really know how I should do the hair. I want to keep it as one solid piece of geometry for a normal map, so I cannot use a hair plugin. I was thinking a displacement map or something, or maybe just leave it smooth and do the hair with the diffuse map alone? Anything else you see, glad to have some help here.
Here is the sloppy drawing I did so I could have some viewport reference. Some tough military guy I guess. Doesn't looks terribly close the the concept, I'm aware of this.
