ok, i'm modeling a gingerbread house, and i want a chocolate river flowing through a water mill right beside it! i have no visual effects experience as of yet (that will be in next quarter) i was wondering first off if i can do this, and secondly if i can accomplish it in less then a week! thanks :)

Their are several ways you could do this. Given your deadline and experience level, your best bet is probably to make a 2d animated texture and displacement map, and apply that to the water. The effect won't be perfect, but if you chose your camera angles well you should be able to hide any problems, and it's a whole lot easier than messing with particles.
