Title: Ancient Sluggy
Name: Roger Nobs
Country: Switzerland
Software: Photoshop

This is a concept I made as part of the CAVS course run by Iain Mccaig at the Pixel Corps. The brief was to make a viable creature by putting together a slug, elephant, ostrich and human: the ostrich didn't make it!
The story developed that this race of ancient and wise creatures have to make a treacherous journey every 100 moons across the dead lands to mate ceremonially with the single 'bull' sluggy. They return to their homes to give birth. A male child is born once every generation and is nurtured to become the new bull.

100% Photoshop.

Thank you for looking at this so well, Neville. I was very clear about the character when I painted her. I hoped to capture the age and wisdom, but with a twinkle in the eye.

Thank you guys.

It was a challenge to give her a structure, but still make her slug-like. If this was an animated creature, I would see the surface of her skin constantly expanding and contracting as slugs do, while retaining her basic human form.

I thought she was quite obviously female. I wanted her to have a sexuality, even though she is old and slimy.

Here's a detail @ 100%.
I've had to squash it a lot.
