Heyas everyone.

I'm wondering if there is some node that makes 2 materials blend from top to bottom.
In MAX there is this material called "top to bottom" or something which lets you chose the top one and bottom one, and then it will blend them in a smooth way going from one to anothing.
I found the blend node in maya, but it just seemed to blend the colors of 2 materials into one, not smoothing them 2.

Man, I really suck at explaining right now, I'm to tired.
Oh well, I hope anyone understand my question and are able to help

Thanks in advance

It think you should use layered shader .
the shader can blend two or most layer material,
another node is blend color ,it has two attribute, the one is blend two colors, another blend two material.
understand.......
I know a little English,i can only say this.

sounds like your explaining the Ramp node.

both replys are right. you should try to use a layered shader and just put a ramp texture as transparency map onty the top shader. make sure you select the right mode in the ramp. sometimes you need to change from V Ramp to U Ramp.

with this methode you can layer as many layer as you can think of
