Howdy everybody,
I've been trying out Painter 11 for the last couple of days and was genuinely surprised to discover that it was significantly slower than Painter X when it came to scrolling and rotating. Especially on 4000 pixels and beyond.
Well, I resolved to get to the bottom of this yesterday, and I'll be damned if I just haven't!
Simply press Ctrl+K to bring up the general preferences, and in the bottom left of the window uncheck the 'Draw zoomed-out views using area-averaging".
Hit OK.
That's it.
After this both panning and rotating is quick, if not quicker than Painter X. The brush strokes I believe are improved a little as well, but maybe that's just wishful thinking.
If this helps anyone else, or if anyone else has any speed fixes, please feel free to share.
Happy painting.
