hello, im a modo user. i was uving mapping a building last night and came to a curve the roof, and the uv mapping just seemed st00pid. i like alot of the tools modo offers, and i perferr it to maya, but i am curious if there is any other uv mapping programs i should look in to. i heard good things about silo and some stand alone uv mapping app (i have forgotten the name).
any help?

i personally really like RoadKill, though nothing beats working with core mechanics for figuring things out

There's "UV Mapper" which is pretty inexpensive, "Maxon BodyPaint" more expensive and "3D Coat" just to name a few.

To name the best, it's UV Layout by Headus. Alternatives likes Roadkill, Blender, Max's pelt mapping, XSI 7.5's Unfold and Modo come to my mind also. And Unfold Magic also.

I second for Headus UV Layout. I'm using it since last year and never looked back.

And also good old DeepUV, so powerful and easy to use.
