Sup, saw this really cool render, so I tried to do the same but not being able to..
The composition was a Minimalist Exterior Render of a house, with a really bright white paint color and a really defined grey color right next to it.

My problem here is, or I get a really nice grey but my whites go a little dark, or I overexpose the grey and it becomes...well "whiter"....
So is there a good tecnique out there to acomplish this?
Some really nice bright white exterior paint color without overexposing other colors next to it so they can also be bright and defined?

Thanks in advance.

you can try rendering out your image to a higher dynamic range format such as 16 bit float tif. It would perserve the pixel information that looks overexposed on your monitor. You can then play with it in a compositing software or a tonemapper (?) to get a final exposure that you like.

Have you looked into linear gamma (http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?f=2&t=610790)? That might give you better control of the clipping.

Also, have you got a link to the original render, I'd be interested to see what you're talking about.
