Hey, I'm new to rigging and kinda stuck. I need this VERY simple character for a project im working on. I have read numerous rigging tutorials and such, but cannot find anything specific to my needs.

Basically I have this basic character...

I just want this rigging so I can animate it as easy as possible, notice how each limb is a separate object, this is because I don't want any kind of deformation. If anyone can point me in the right direction in doing this then it would be greatly appreciated.

Parent your character segments to your bones. Simple as that.

If you donŽt know how to create a bone rig, just create a biped within Max. Use the Max tutorials to dabble a round a few hours, then you should be alright.

If you donŽt use Max, then you might like to take a look at the FBIK skeleton setup, takes an hour or two to understand and setup, but then it is very powerful.

BTW: As youŽve already seen, youŽll get more specific help, if you state the 3D software package you are using.

Good luck and have fun

Chris
