only a week to finish this, i hope i'll have time to do it :)
this is the progress so far, this morning's work, it's a valkyrie, she's supposed to be leant on a sword.

if i have time i'll do the background...
if not, i'll just make something acording to the character... :)

feedback is welcome.

opps, i've just read the rules and i forgot to say the style of the game which this is supossed to be a cinematic of...
the style i had thought is to be a role playing game, becouse in those games take a lot of things from different human mythologies...
and the background story, hmn, that's so difficult to tell now... i think i'll have to think that better although in these games the story is very predictable in my opinion....

finally i decided to make a background...
this is the actual state.

nice stuff, but her stance with what shes holding in her hands looks kinda off balanced.

love the style.

this is a scheme of the pose...
the sword or wand she's holding is a leant point which balances the weight.
thanks for the comment.

here comes the short background story:
during a night the viking village where Ingunn lived was attacked during her absence, all the people got dead except an old man, who told Ingunn some trails to find the attackers...
this is the start where i get this young valkyrie try to get her vengeance...
typical story... but i'm not too fond on writing so... :)

some tweaking on the shoulders, left arm, and right foot....
and i centered the group formed by the girl and the wand...

hey jgb ...been watchin you workin hard on this thing, so i thought i'd chime in..... like how you have lightened up the piece with the painting your doin now

head pose is better too:thumbsup:

one thing that is bothering me though is the hip/ leg action you got ... try and stand yourself like she is ...you can't do it  ...you have her left hip forward but the foot is back while the right hip is back and the left foot forward

i'd suggest putting the right foot back and bring up the left and she'll look alot more natural ... but then that's just my two cents

keep it up ... it's comin right along

damn, pigwater, you're right, sometimes, when working on a picture, i simply don't realise of these kind of things...
i've done a simple scheme with boxes to see that i focused in the feet position, and that was a complete error...

http://rgba.planet-d.net/pwyll/cgchallenge/esquema.jpg

what i did is thinking in the position of the feet as it appears on the persp viewport, and what should be is the persp1 viewport... argh

thank you very much pigwater, if you didn't point me in this way, i humbly wouldn't realise of this...

 glad it helped ...

that is a great idea you had to box it out like that ... i would never of thought of that ... now you got a visual representation ...smart one you , i sense

i've been experimenting some more, and i realised that the hip should be also a bit rotated, but i don't really have time to change that, and i'm really getting bored of this image, so i'll fix the legs error, and i'll let the pose as it's now, somehow forced, but, well, i can't do more in the short time i have to finish this :D

GHreat work man. I have one small problem though. Her feet don't seem to have any depth. Very flat compared to the rest of the image. But I like it. Actually maybe you could blow up her head a little and see what that looks like.
