Yes an other question about render passes,

I finaly got the occlusion a bit to work. stil its not white wit gray but only gray.
But the wierd thing is when i have a masterLayer with an AO pass, and i have the AO selected in the indirect lightning on 265 ( default)
Why is the master layer rendering so damn slow?
when i turn it off (the AO option in indirect lighting)it goes faster but then i dont have a correct AO.
And since its impossible to render only a AO and no master ( for as far as i know).

Why is the master layer affected bij the AO option?

and can maby some one give a tip why my model is gray and not white +gray.
* i got Physical sun and sky in my scene. in 2008 i had to override this but in 2009 with all these wierd passes i dont get it any more.

why did they even change it ...:(

AO pass in Maya O9 really s*cks. Stay with the normal solution and render the AO seperately!
create lambert & mib_amb_occlusion --> link the AO to the ambient color of the lambert and turn lambert color to full white.

yep, it s*cks, mainly because i didn't found controls on it and it seem to be very high

i think that connecting AO mr texture to color of a surface shader is a bit faster than on the ambiant of a lambert...
