There are similarites, yes, i.e colors and a few minor graphical things, but there is only so much you can do with the standard vertical 3-column+top-header layout style.

I do agree though, that what makes a great designer nowadays, is an original look.

Because usability has become a MAJOR importance in the last 5 years, the layouts will most often remain the same, but as long as a designer can achive a personal look, it will still seem original:)

However, I/we DO frown upon BLATANT art theft, and I think that was your point:)

I can't blame you for doubting if it's his work or not but this guy has been banned a thousand times from design forums (I'll try to get the links) because of ripping people's work and saying it's
his. I can't stand that kinda people...

Hum, yeah I think this guy was definitely inspired by you, but I don't think we can talk about a rip here. What matches are some general shapes of the UI and the banner but beside this it seems all self done. I mean a rip is when you take something and use exactly this or base you following design on this, but I think we can only talk about an inspiration here, which is not forbidden in my point of view.
