Hello,

Here is a little tank I've been working on the past few days. The main hunk of it is pretty much done, although I still have to make the flame thrower turret up top. I'm using an old model I put together for reference, although I had to modify some parts of it. Right now i'm modeling it in Maya. If anyone has any comments about feel free to rip in to it, and thanks.

Here is a shot of it from the other side. I went ahead and modeled all of the bolts and stuff so the poly count is kinda insane.

the main body looks good, except the plow on the front is going through the model, maybe pull that out so its attached to it not inside it :)

Here's a update to an old post, got kinda bored of the project. But have finished off all of the modeling of the tank. Started the textures and finished off both of the sides. Can't wait to get the middle done, so i can start modeling the gunner, any c&c you have would be great.

If I could texture like you, the world would be a better place :)

Any chance of a wire?

I always see people on the board post models that have small details, like spherical bolts or the fleur de lis on your tank, and always wondered how they cut the polygons and such without completely messing up that part of the mesh and making the detail look good.

Very nice tank btw.

Just a quick update before a retire to play video games. Finished off the dozer and started up the flamethower. I also added some kill marks and the left side for fun.

-ApocGFX Hey thanks, i hate texuring the most so it's good to hear it when someone says it looks good.

-Gibberish Heh yeah i'll throw some wires up for ya, but i'll warn you now thats it's kinda messy

Hey, pretty nice so far. :) I think a couple smoothing groups could use some detail, and a few areas could use scale tweaks. Not all the proportions seem that correct. Are you measuring a model and making it exactly to scale or are you just free modelling?

BTW check out my space marine land raider: [link] (http://analogbubblebath.net/~crayon/my_graphics/landraider25.jpg)

Ok here are those wireframes.

-sbv20 Kinda both, but mainly freemodeling. I have an actual model of the piece that i'm going off of, but i'm changing some parts just cause i didn't really like how they were built. Like the tank tracks for instanse i made about 1.5 time wider, and the hull is slightly shorter than what it should have been. If you don't mind maybe you could point out some of the areas that you think look kinda strange, a good chance that i've been working so much on it that i've past it up, or haven't noticed it. Thanks for your comment :)

oh and i just checked out your land raider, truely awesome, great work, i especially liked your gun racks and ramps

Well here it is all textured up. Going to mess with some fire effects so i can add flames to the chalice on the right side. In the meantime i think i'll model the gunner and maybe a driver too. If anyone has any comments please let me know about them, so i can update the model, thanks again.

well i starter working on the gunner. Here are some views of her head, with and without her gas mask. Think i'll detail the mask up some more, right now it looks a little to plain. Also if anyone has any good ideas to do for the hair i'd love to hear'em. would love to hear any c&c you have.

Well here she is, all the modeling is pretty much done. All thats left is a rosary, and some detail on the left shoulder pad, but i think i'll skip that and start texturing for now. Again if anyone has any comments please let me know

Alright here she is pretty much all textured up. I still have to unrap and make the texture for her face and make an emblem on the right arm sleeve, but i'll do that another day. Not real sure about the hair, or about the red color on her breasts or the hoses near her neck, maybe darker. Going to look into a cloth sim and then going to start up on the rig, which i hope won't take to long. Any c&c would be most helpful.

I belive all Sisters of Battle have black hair? Hmmm....some have white but I don't think I have seen a blond one hehehhe.

No matter, looks great!

Just one thing; I hope you will consider modeling the new version of the Immolator. This one has the "old" Rhino base model. It looks...not as good, compared to the new one. =)

Keep it up.

Heh yeah the hair color was one of the things i wasn't sure about. All the pics i've seen of them are either white or black too, just trying something different out.

Yeah that new tank does look much better, when i started modeling this one i was going off of what i had on hand, which was the older model. Although i wouldn't mind making the newer version, right now i just need to get this done and and get started on some new projects.

Thanks for the reply, and i appreciate you pointing out the differences

other than the first two pics all I can see is "Rerival Free Webhositng" pics. Looks good from what I can see. The picks t hat PAnick posted are really cool! Those are acutal models though right? I always see those types of things at the Comic book shop when I go down there every now and then. Always dug the technology they have in Warhammer 40k.

I had that same problem too, I just refreshed a few times to fix it. Dunno what causes it.

PS: Expect more 40K WIP'age when I'm a little more done with my Tau army!!1111, erhh.....well the Crisis Suits anyway (mecha/robot thingy for those who don't know Warhammer) :D

OK here she is all done, well for the most part... for now anyway. Yeah wish i knew what was wrong with the whole red rival pics too, it happens alot when i go onto others people posts as well, but i dont know why.

Anyway any C&C you got, feel free to write it down, thanks.

Looks cool:buttrock: but it all seems too smooth to me after all "in the far future there is only war" so I don’t think they would be too bothered about presentation

a few cuts and dents wouldn’t go amiss.
