View Full Version : Earl The Anteater
Animatoron 07-05-2003, 07:21 AM Hey hey everyone. I'm working on this character for a short animation I would like to do. I do have a question though. Does anyone know if it make a big difference if you model the hands vertical or horizontal? I was just curious if one way provided better deformations on the shoulder?? Anyway.. If you can answer that question that would be great. Thanks

Nice looking character, he has a great feel to him. As to your question about the hands, I perfer to make the horizontal, and make the arms come out of the body at a 45 degree angle. I find that this way they are closer to their resting positions.

Thanks for the tips. I'm going move the hands to the horizontal position because you made a good point about the resting position, ComatoseWolf. I'll also try to make his claws a lil thicker and see how it looks.. thanks guys.

Nice looking creature/character
If your going for an aardvark anteater look then maybee this (http://asterix.ednet.lsu.edu/~edtech/rainfor/aardvark/aardvark.jpg) would help with texuring. Unless of course you're going more for a pig-skin look, in which case that tex you got already looks pretty good!
can't wait to see the anim. of this guy :)
