WOW.... :applause:
I loved it.
It such a great story and the quality is excellent.
Beautiful work.
....only thing that caught my eye was how the water kept moving around in the glass after he put the flower in it. In my personal opinion I think it should have become still sooner.
But other than that, im VERY impressed with it.
Excellent work!!

I thought that was more an effect added to make the colours appear a little out of sync so it looked more like a digitally projected image.

The only thing that I wondered at the end is that if this is his lover and she is in some sort of coma, why didn't he interact with her or greet her while she explored his creation?
Otherwise all around impressive, I loved it.

really great film loved everything about it, I think if the comping in regards to the green screen was worked on a little more, it would of been perfect. There were some parts were it stood out pretty conspicuously. But like I said, enjoyed it nonetheless. Great work!

Excellent stuff. Looked fantastic. Green screen looked totally fine... people are forgetting it's a holographic room.... seeing a green screen could add to the effect.....
My only crit is that the facial expressions of the actors looked as though they were in a car insurance t.v. advert. A little cheesy sometimes.

This was beautiful and amazing in every possible way. I enjoyed every second. And as far as the green outlines I think that was purposeful. It wasn't there the whole time and from what it looked like, it was meant to make it look somewhat like a glitch of some sort. Even if it wasn't on purpose, it just enhanced the idea that everything was holographic.

was it some kind of therapy?, at times it felt long and I wanted to see some action. I liked part where he started to put details in to buildings it was nicely paced. So what was man's purpose of building the city? to make her smile? kind of strange.

Another wow from here. Yes maybe technically the comping leaves just a little to wish for.
dunno if it's the green screen or the deep etching or something but still negligible.
What really stands out is how cool the whole concept is. And how savvy the whole thing is in terms of "building" a Cg scene. Very futuristic and even believable? The acting was only cool. Expected her to be taking a break from the birth clinic, turns out she was sick or something?
Also pretty romantic, I'm not really for the soppy stuff but won't pick on it ;)
Maybe it borders a little on the corny or is it just a love story. Dunno.
I think sweet is quite the applicable word perhaps
PS-- Thinking of the plot it's still kind of romantic. So he builds a world for her, and when she leaves everything falls apart, not. And now it seems to me that she's not sick, only checked in to a clinic for a little trip or something? And he creates the world for her to walk into? Or she sick and taking a break of sorts and he just does everything to surprise her. Makes you wonder huh

Fantastic piece of short film. Why did this never get out since 2007? (The copyright at the end says that.)
The idea is pretty neat. I really enjoy the thoughtfulness of the creator and how he protrays the main character.
On the other hand, personally I think the CG isn't done as well as it could have been. But still a great job considering the size of the team and the budget you guys had.
The lens was very stylised. You'd never see a lens so noisy, but clear yet there is a great amount of chromatic aberration on the sides. Yet I was not bothered by it.
Great job. ;] Thanks for sharing!

Son of a bitch that's genius work, right there. Please tell me you are sending this to Siggraph, for everyone to see on the big screen. This could be adapted to a feature film dude and Siggraph is your meal ticket. I think what is so touching, is the fact that sometimes the most important things in life are the simple things, like a smile from a loved one, and no amount of work and effort will stop the human spirit from achieving that goal.

Cool.
I always feel the need to be the devils advocate when i see hundreds of positive posts..so..
...Thought it was overly sentimental...acting was a bit naff..
but good on him for basicly doing everything him self though, can't make any negative comments on the vfx work.

LOL.... that chromatic aberration was a style decision not a green screen glitch... look for chromatic aberration on photography sites, and you will understand better what he tried to achieve.

Interresting...
There was a small Q&A with Bruce in the latest NewTek newsletter, where he said that he had a shot that was MoCaped. Upon further investigation, I got to know that in two of the wide shots the actor (the builder) is actually 100% CG.
