(http://assets.cgsociety.org/nvart/136851_1235959218/1024bound)I was really inspired to compete in this challenge as I am a huge surrealist art fan, and thought it’d be nice to do some personal 3d work (which I find tough due to my job!).
I admire Yerka’s style and tried to do a piece that he may have done, I noticed that his compositions are extremely well laid out and focus more on the subject than in the small details, which is why I tried to leave my piece detailed, but not overly so. I researched some medieval buildings and viewed many of his pieces, (along with artwork from Magritte and other surrealists) and tried to emulate the style of buildings, color, and composition that he uses.
I wish I had more time to work on it, but will have to call it done for now. Hope you all enjoy! Made in 3ds max and Vray.
