View Full Version : Animation : pre/post frame ghosting
NikLG 07-04-2003, 11:22 AM I was wondering if anyone knew of a script / plug-in for MAX that will allow one to see previous / later frames of an animation ?
The standard MAX ghosting isn't overly useful as it only shows the selected object.
When I am animating, my main geomtry is always frozen so I don't accidentaly pick it.
It'd be nice ( I think ) to see the main model ghosted, not the controllers that I use to manipulate it..
Anyone ? Or am I missing something in the ghosting option ??

What does that mean ?
Do you think it'd be a good idea ? Or not ?
Sorry, but that's reply has confused me a little...

I think he's boggling at the performance issues.

I don't see that as being a massive problem...particularly doing character stuff. You wouldn't need to use it all the time, just in the initial key / breakdown stages...it'd be nicer than drawing on your monitor or sticking post its all over the shop...

I mean this sort of thing.
This is MAXs own ghosting, which is fine to see stuff after
it's been animated, but as it only works on selected objects it doesn't really help during animation ( when I use controllers to move the chr about ) as all you see are ghosted contollers not the entire mesh...
