this is my entry, Birthday Season
the CONCEPT
I spent the first couple of days trying to understand Yerka's concept in his arts. Well Obvious enough, I got confused. But i noticed that sometimes Yerka put a simple concept behind his works, and even a slight humor inside.
so i took a simple one. birthday + season = birthday season. birthday and seasons represents continuous cycle in life. while birthday season I interpreted as a time when there's a lot of birthday celebration, which lead to: a birthday cake! :D
the STYLE
first of all, I'm not a painter. I can't paint an apple, let alone painting in Yerka's style. :P
So, I have to get the most out of 3D, and get as close to something that looks like Yerka's. From his works, I noticed a few things that i can use as guidelines to translate them in 3D; Details, Geometry, Color, and how he arrange objects.
All and all, i gave my best shot. though arranging those leaves almost cost me my sanity, i had fun working on this one! :)
Hope you like it
