I'm working with 4.5, completely new to Maya, and i have a problem that's pissing me off...

I'm trying this tutorial (http://www.highend3d.com/maya/tutorials/patch2/) , and I'm supposed to let the beginnings and ends snap to eachother, but it doesn't seem to work properly -- when I zoom in after I have ended a curve very close to (or on my screen: on) the curve, the ends don't meet.
The tutorial tells me to press c everytime I do this, but I figured that's just the hotkey associated with the 'snap to curves' function, so I click that icon before I start.
anyway, it doesn't work! Right now I have 2 points snapped, don't know how I did it, but it just happened, but then the end of the last curve to close a patch doesn't snap to the beginning of the first...
*sigh*

any help would be appreciated! (even help to let the endpoints snap after creation by some kind of "Merge Control Vertex" function i can't find)

thanks!

ok, so I found the solution on this board, I was too stupid to search first! This (http://www.cgtalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=70061) was the thread that helped me! :buttrock:

(click-drag the first point on the curve you want it to snap to and drag it till the end)
