i am having alot of difficulty with ncaching a very complex scene. i have 5 nparticle emitters emitting instanced geometry (rubble). 3 of them only emit for about 20 frames and emit maybe 100 - 200 particles. the other 2 slowly emit for the duration of the scene. i can play back the scene in the timeline and it moves slower than real time, but it is reasonable for the amount going on.

problems begin when i want to cache.

i've read up on alot of the problems people are having. i've made sure that the emitters are are caching all settings, not just position and velocity. i am also encountering the bug where loading a cache file into a scene produces only one connection instead of three in the cache node (any way to fix this ?)

BUT

i've found ways around this. the problem is performance. when i cache something out and play it back, it plays through once at an acceptable speed (still not faster than if i just ran the simulation though), BUT if i rewind and play again, performance is insanely slow maybe a frame every 30 seconds (my scene has 784 frames). of note: nucleus solver is off. nparticle object is turned isdynamic off.

this is a problem because i can only sucessfully cache one of the particle systems (because loading in externally created cache's is bugged) due to the ridiculous performance problem.

and the reason i HAVE to solve this is because my shot is pretty complex. final gather on cached fluid simulations. i really really need to use the renderfarm.

any ideas? any responces welcome, i'll keep pegging away in the mean time.
