Hi there,
I'm setting up this character at the moment and I have a few questions for anyone with a bit of time on their hands....

Firstly, I have created a synoptic view to help apply some poses and key the character, you know the deal. But when I reference the character into another project the poses don't work from the synoptic view anymore..

The sources still exist inside the characters mixer but I think the problem is that the charcater now has "reference" attatched to it's name so the script in the synoptic view is looking for the wrong clip....

Secondly, I am trying to make it so that when you click on the characters hand, It's custom attributes apear. I have done this manually by selecting it from the explorer window and pressing enter, but when I copy this script it doesn't seem to work. It doesn't have an error or anything but the custom attributes just don't pop up...:hmm: .....

Thanks - Petey

Perhaps you could make your script more general. I assume that you simply copy-pasted the script line, wich might give you errors if you changed the hierarchy or some names in the hierarchy.

The script is pretty general. The problem is that the names change when it becomes a reference..... Someone must have come up with this problem?. :curious:
I have one idea, though it seems a little hacky. That is to take my HTML script from the synoptic view into a word processing program and get it to replace "Model name" with "Referenced_Model name"...
That would probably work.

When I said to make the script more general, I mean that it should evaluate the current selection, no matter what its name is. The script checks if a custom property set is attached, if so, it inspects it (opening the cpset ppg). Of course, if the cpset is attached to the top model, then the script will have to find the model (top parent) to work.

In my script I was only selecting the custom parameters not Inspecting them!!

But there are some simple things, such as selecting parts of the character that I'll still have to rename when I reference it...

I'm only new to the softy character setup so there's still a bit of suff going over my head..

Thanks for the help
