Have you guys ever had the problem of doing orinet constrains, and then them not holding?
This for Maya 5.
The problem I'm having is, the constraints hold but sometimes they dont. When animateing the characters constraints go hay wire, and in order to bring the joints to theyr original positions I have to resset the locators or joints back to 0. Two or three times before I could get the joints to theyr original positions.

Maybe its a bug or something, because it dosent doit all the time. But when it does I cant fix it.

Has anyone had this problem before?

i've had some issues with constraints...nothing quite that drastic though. You might want to check your hierarchy, make sure everything is nice and tidy.

Try this:

object 1 = constrained object
object 2 = object you're constraining to.
object 3 = locator

with this hierarchy....

-object 1
|
object 3 (parented to object 1)

-object 2
|
orient constraint to locator (and point constrain if neccessary)

You probably have something parented improperly, and the constraint doesn't know what to do..

Joe
