View Full Version : activate airbrush capabilities?
Levitateme 07-04-2003, 12:04 AM i was reading in the help docs, it says you get a more diffused brush? i clicked on the airbrush icon next to flow, and i see no difference between my paintbrush, and the airbrush. can someone expalin to me what are the advantages of using that turned on?

ummm.. I'm not exactly sure cos I've never tested it myself but I think it has to do with the buildup of ink spray over time and the angle at which you hold the pen can change the shape of the mark. I don't know if PS does this but painter certainly does. Maybe you need to buy the special air-brush wacom pen. who knows...

Yes, Ian has the right idea here. But no special Wacom pen is needed.
Just try this:
Pick the normal Paint Brush, choose black, and click the brush and hold the button down on your mouse.
Then click the Airbrush icon in the Options Bar, and click and hold your mouse button down.
Notice how with the Airbrush, the paint continues to build up over time? With the normal Paint Brush though, the paint gets applied only once -- just as a REAL brush would do.
As for auto-rotation on the brush, yes, PS7 can now do this. Just enter the Brush Options and setup the specifics you need.

wow guest, im so glad you explained that to me. i was painting some strokes with it , i saw nothing differnt happening. that is really useful thanks agin.
