Hello!

I'm modelling a small soda can using 3ds max, i started the can as a cylinder and that part is ready. But when i get to the top part things get more complicated, because i don't know how to approach the modelling of the pull tab. I tried using splines and then extruding them, but the issue here is that i don't have enough subdivisions for the turbosmooth to work.

How would you approach this?

Thanks

The best way i find, to approach objects like that or any objects with cavities or holes in them is by starting with objects shaped like the cavities.
I recently posted a small tutorial for someone who was having similar issues. Although there are differences in what both of you needed, the technique will work the same none the less.
The only thing you have to do differently, is delete the faces shaped like the holes you want, instead of extruding them.

Your end result will be compatible with turbosmooth.
