Hi, I'm not a total noob to maya, but I don't have it all figured out yet either. I'm making a simple earth and I've just about got it the way I want it except for the lighting effects. When my light (sun) is behind my planet, some of the light shines through, but when the light is off to the side everything is fine. So I'm hoping someone can help me figure out how to make the light dissappear behind the planet. I'll attach a couple of pictures to show you what I mean.
