View Full Version : How Do I Add Eye Brows That Follow Face Geometry?
damage inc 02-25-2009, 04:11 AM If I want to add eye brows or a mustache to a rigged character, how to I get them to move with the geometry of the face when it deforms? I remember hearing how to do it and it was an easy 1 step thing but I can't figure it out.
Thanks.

The wrap deformer should work for what you need...

yeah... wrap deformer/skin wrap will work... but they're slooooooooooow -_-
personally I think it's best to plan for having the mustache/eyebrows from the beginning instead of trying to add them on later

I've actually done a mustache for a character in my Video Blog Here (http://animationsalvation.com/free_tips/lip-sync/1).
It's probably not what you want to hear, but I animated it by hand after I did the facial animation. It tool me about 4 minutes and its all done with 1 bend modifier and translating it.

Thanks archanex and DJ-Nicke. I'm trying to modify an existing rig. Otherwise I agree, the mustache should already be there. If I had to I wouldn't mind hand animating the eyebrows and mustache but I was looking for something easier. Thanks again guys.

you could also try a ribbon set-up,
using rivet (or hair foliclles) with joints on top, and then skining your secondary geometry to it....
but i agree with Andrion (archanex), always better to plan (pre-production: concept, draws, etcs) before.
can you post some screen of your model ?
