yeah!
i like this one.

i don't agree with the hair problem.
I think it fits really well with the rendering of the clothes.
I don't know if you did this brush effect because you had probs dealing with hair, or if you did it intentionally because you have good taste.

Anyway, it pushes your picture a bit higher than a full 3d characters. Yes, it's an obsession for me ;)

Keep going

uhm... do stg for the ear and you'll get your stars :)

The hair seems totally out of place in this image, maybe because of the clarity of the face. But the rest of it is wonderful! Particularly like the quality fo the material of the clothes, good job!

Textures are really good...nothing matches the lighting in this peice. It's not perfect, but hey, your imagery is better than alot of stuff we see around here. Not all but most.

*Ponders* What a delightful render.

holy smook.......

nice textures and details. a very good lighting setup too.

2 things should fix to get you to the first page of cgtalk.com

Proportion of the eye. make sure that they are at the center of the whole head. Now the eyes are alittle bit too high.

Hair. try to use texture patches or even make him no hair. max hair just make everything wrong. ruen everything.:shame:

or if you really want to stick with it. Make the strand thinker & biger. Make them very fuzz. and it should be very specular ( looks like never wash the hair). etc.

That's a really amazing render. Great job Jacky!

Of course, this is a computer graphics forum so everyone is very sensitive to issues of photorealism. But I think that if you showed it to an ordinary person, it would pass for a real child. I hope you make it to the front page.

Oh, thank you very much for HapZungLam, but eyes I think may perspect strong problem too camera view, I have checked models ,The proportion of eyes should be out of question . Hair I go and fix according to what you say and then . My English is not very good ,Perhaps some can not be understood :) http://ltk80.nease.net/boy/09.jpg

Amazing! Just a few details I think should be noticed:

The face is a bit flat. You can try to correct it by adding some shadows (or even light areas) to the face contour (like Inner Shadow in Photoshop :) ). I'm sure you know about Faloff map applied to the Self-Illumination in 3dsmax.

Hair looks like feathers , but... hmm.. you fixed it :) But I still think that there should be some shadows under the hair.

Try to add some glittering to the eyes. It will look more realistic.

The left shoulder (or his right shoulder) is oversaturated. The right one is perfect. The cloth material is superb!

Try to add some detail to his neck. Maybe some stains, like on his face.

I like your work very much! Good luck!

I like it... especially the clothes..
I just don't think the shape of the head looks that realistic to be honest. Good texturing.. I like the hair.. I like the render. The modeling of the head just isn't as good as the rest of the stuff though I think...

And I don't think it's worth 5 stars... but this is democracy :)

Yeah, it kicks butt.

However....

Why does this picture crack me up so much!? Everytime I look at him: his silly mouth hanging open and his eyes and hair all serve to jsut make me bust out laughing. It's one of the funniest pictures I've ever seen at this site!:applause: :applause:
