View Full Version : Maya - how to do a loose robot arm???
bluemana 02-23-2009, 08:14 PM How should i do for instance a robot that walks, but its arms are broken so they are not rigid, they are just moving by gravity and intertia... Is there any way to do a joint that is affected by gravity???

What version of Maya are you animating in?
You can use this plugin:

But you'll get the arms intersecting with the body geometry.
If you have nCloth, I'd use nCloth to drive the limbs and set them to collide with the body.
