I finally got a Wacom pad, and this is my first picture. Not much, but I am not used to the pad yet. Hopefully my later pictures will be better. I plan to be on here a lot now. I would love to know what you think of this picture.:D

I think it's quite good, considering it's your first Wacom pic. I also just started using my Wacom, and I'm struggling so far;). Which tablet & software did you use?

It's a graphire 2. I used Paint Shop Pro. I drew it in about 10 minutes. Just a quick sketch. I have drawn all of my life now...Getting this Wacom pad is like learning to draw in a whole new way! But i love it.:D I'd like to see some of your work as well.

A great tip (not mine, got it from somewhere) is to tape on a piece of paper onto the tablet. Try it, itīs so much nicer to draw with the paper taped onto the tablet.

yeah, blade runner! (or not)

yes, I also have a wacon grafire2, my favorite.

quick sketch is a cool way to start. not that you make stuff better, but you don't have to beare with the fustration of not being able to do wonderfull stuff in the first one or 2 weeks.

try using flash. theres a variable storke brush there. makes a pretty fine vector shape drawings. oh, did I mension that they are vector shapes! well... they are! :D

best wishes with you wacom. wake'm

Hmm, this is probably the most weird tip ever. I tried it and it works but somehow the paper makes the tablet surface harder to control, now that I'm used to this piece of plastic.

Take everything you read with a grain of salt. Try what works for you, but don't stick to things that are unneccessary. That would be my tip. And remember, the methods do not matter, only the result. There's no one way of painting digitally, but I'd recommend you read some tutorials. One good link would be: www.sumaleth.com/links. Good luck!
