hey everyone,

i am having trouble with my character rig, i can't seem to get the damping to apply. I have read the help and it says that the damping works relative to the limits.

i have set limits,eg (z -60 +30 deg) and then i set damping min/max to eg -30 +10 and i have tried different strengths and such for the damping but still nothing.

When i move the ik handle there is a second brown joint but it still hits the limits i set.

anyhelp is greatly appreciated.

Hmmm,

Apparantly joint damping doesn't work in Maya. Never has maybe never will. I'm basing this on a similar post from a while back so i could be very wrong indeed.

Yep, crap indeed!

Seems that people can live without it. Loads of great animation is done in Maya so i wouldn't be too concerned about it.

Now, if you want to know about crap tools in Maya, look no further than the Bevel tool.:thumbsdow

bloody hell! there's another waste of space, i might as well go back to 3dsmax...OMG what am i saying.
