View Full Version : Animating a Fish
Psotek 07-03-2003, 12:55 AM Just a quick question before I finish my fish model. I want to know the best way to animate a fish. It wouldnt need to swim as well as move its fins, etc. Im guessing bones, but can someone explain it to me a bit better?
Thanks

If u are going to do very advance animation, U can use bones, but it would probly be much easyer and maybe even better to use the morph modifer.

The absolute easiest would be to use a path-deform, you just slap the fish on a path, and it follows it.
It doesn't look very convincing though.
I've recently animated fish, and imo the only way to get anything worthwhile going was bones. We used SplineIK along its tiny body, and it worked nicely.
