Hey all, well Im new to Softimage and I was wondering if VB was the only or main program that you can use.

VB is for scripting.

You can use VB, but you can also use Python, Perl and JScript.

Most people believe that JScript is the way to go. But its up to you.

For coding shaders you can also use C and C++.

You can use C++ not only for shaders in XSI but for immediate and persistant compiled operators too. In fact the C++ interface made a big jump forward in 3.5 as it seems from the documentation.
