Title: Beauty & Death
Name: Bing Xiao
Country: China
Software: Photoshop
It's a new story which illustrates my opinion of 'beauty and death'.
"Eras ago, all living animals had a very pure mind and possess an anima cameo. The other day, a devil appeared, using it's illusionary to baffle animals giving their anima cameo in exchange of immortal life and beauty. But those who giving up their anima cameo will become skeleton during the night." The picture shows a scene of the very story.

Lovely work! You've managed to get a great sense of movement in the painting of the birds and the colours are beautiful.

Wow! To me an amazing concept and composition. The colours are beautiful as well, and I really like how you have played with the light. I think a little splodge of those blueish colours, but then on the right lower side of the picture would balance the colours out a little better in a whole. But that is just a thought, because I love this piece as it is...
Thank you for sharing ... will check out your gallery now ;)

Wow! Gorgeous piece here. The colors are brilliant and dazzling. The textures, especially the birds and clothing, are exceptional. It's hard to do good rendering (with full shine) of brilliant gems, but you catpured them very well here. The brids are beautiful and so is the woman. I love the close up bit of the bird holding a jewel and the shadow of a skeleton beside it. The glowing bird with the jewel in its beak is beutifully done and the expression on the woman is great.
If we could see this in it's true size then these close up shots wouldn't be needed. All well, nothing we can do about that. The balance and harmony of the composition is great. I can't wait to see the next one you do, but take your time. Work this great takes some patience to get that attention to detail like you show here. This is a truly magnificent work of art here. I congradulate you.

Hi.
You've done a really good job !
Congratulations, your technique seems perfect. Great sense of details and color composition.
Still, your image reminds me a lot of a piece from Linda Bergkvist : Master and Servant : Spoiled (http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?f=137&t=242000)
Don't know if this is your source of inspiration for this one or not, but if it is, may be you should have mentionned it. It removes nothing from your talent, because you have a lot of it, and your painting is very good.
Anyway, I repeat.
Good job !

I'm very sorry of that.
If you have ever seen my other works, you should konw that "I never stolen any other artist's idea". I konw Linda's that work, and I like it very much. But can't you see the differents ?
This is all about my story, my passion and my hardwork. Maybe her did a very popular skills of painting birds and masks before. But you can't say that, when one artist wants to paint birds and masks in his picture, is all form Linda's idea. And I want to create my own skills of painting them too.
Maybe it's just your mind, but it hurt me and my work.

I'm sorry, I really didn't mean to hurt your feelings.
I just found some similarities between your images.
Everyone has the right to take inspiration from where he fells like to, it's not a crime. Your image is not a copy, it is not stolen in any way, there are many differences, and the theme is not the same, of course, that's really not what I wanted to say.
I've said good job and congratulation at least three times, and I meant it for real.
I've seen your other works too, and I love them.
Of course everyone painting masks and birds are not copying Bergkvist.
I think that we take inspiration from what we can see all around us, it's natural. And as some great artists make reference, of course sometimes it's also natural to see some of their marks in other works, rather it is concious or not from us to put them in.
And I repeat, it removes nothing from your great talent, your images are really good looking, and I am miles away from your skills, so don't take too personal, this is just a thought, just a crit on a cg forum, my goal is not to hurt you, sorry if I've mistaken, and keep up your excellent work !

First, I have a story. Second, I do it in my painting.
If you think my skills and style... same with linda's work, I will be not so agitated. We all did beauty in picture, like the birds and the mask.
But I have to say that, my story is unique, my hardwork is unique, they all only from my mind. When I painting with it, I never thinking about her works or other artist's works. I just want to be myself.
Well, I accept your apology and welcome to write your other viewpoint.

You have earned and won my eternal respect with the skill you have shown in Photoshop. If only I could paint as well as you, I would never need to do another 3d render again. Bravo!
Theme: Your theme, and story of the painting are well thought out, provacative, and makes me want to see the next illustration for this story. I hope you will continue to illustrate it more, and to tell the story as it grows.
Thank you!
