My god almighty how fabulous! I really need to know how you did that...step-by-step. I am most impressed by the photo-glossy highlights and you're use of depth-of-field.
Are you able to achieve this expressive a look with your own original conceptions?

i'll work on some stuff using this technique and post it up so you can see your influence on the art world.

Even though she's a machine, That's definatly the top 3 most hardcore animation i've ever seen.
If you can animate it and make it more dramatic than the original. That would be an interesting thing to see.

Awesome stuff mang!! VERY good job at capturing the emotion of that film too. I love the Animatrix, and you gave it justice. Nice.
Nice Painting! One thing that bothers me is that you got too much blur on it. Maybe it's your style.
Great work!

wow... this is really awesome... one crit though... personally i think the finished one has too much blur on the secondary characters. great work though.

Like I said, when I watched the animation: 'this is absolute horror!'

my friend who is a fan of the misfits, any dark punk/emo music walked out on that scene. i have known him for 9 years, that really suprised me. we watched like devil man when we were really young, i never heard anything from him, but i guess that scene hit a nerve? i just bring that up because in the anime i have no problem with it but your image actually i think is disturbing. ithink it gives to much for someone to view. it makes it more human were i dont see her as a robot anymore.

So Levi, are you saying that's good or that's bad?
In my book that's good the fact that the art's good enough to disturb someone - i feel like that's what art should do.
To me if someone gets disturbed by something, it's a sign that they've got issues which need to be addressed, and that image or art or music or whatever it was that triggered them just brought their emotion to the surface which was already there and hiding inside about something which had to come to the surface sooner or later anyway...

yeah i totally agree. the best art, imo, provokes emotion. and this piece is very haunting and disturbing... and the fact that it makes me feel that was makes it a complete success in my book.
