am a “senior” programmer desiring to get my “foot in the gaming world door”, with little or no compensation.

Currently, on my own, I am learning Maya 5.0. Although I am only at the beginning stages, I know that whether developing animation/games using software such as DirectX, OpenGL, Maya, 3DS, etc…, I am dedicated to perform whatever learning process that is necessary to become a top gaming developer.

I realize that your job opening requires more experience than I possess, however, a short term investment in me would be a long term payoff for any organization. In fact, there are only gains to be realized by having me join your team.

If you can't find a deveoper that lets you work even for free maybe you should try applying for the developer team of Planeshift ( www.planeshift.it , a 3d MMORPG with over 40000 accounts).
Many of the developers there are professionals and will give you great game-making experience.

3d MMORPGs are the future of game development, you know..
