So I just watched a tutorial on rendering separate layers in Maya for greater control over the image while compositing. I understand that process, to a certain degree, but now I am having some troubles when I try to composite the layers onto something in After Effects. Here is what I am wondering: is there a certain order in which the layers should be on top of one another? And what sort of blending layer modes should be used for each layer? Shadow, diffuse, occlusion, specular, and any other render layer I may use. Any info on this subject would be much appreciated. Thanks!
