I have been searching for a while now and cant find it. I know that it is included in the Design edition but heard that I should have it in 2009 as well. Is this just a rumor or is it really well hidden?

I know were its supposed to be but I don't have it. This is what I have. Is there a file I need to modify or something else I need to do to get to it. The only types I have in the Lighting Drop down are Standard and Photometric. Thanks for the help.

Your screen shot says you have max9. Max9 does not have sky portals. They were added in 2008. The closest you have is an area light (photometric).

Ahhhhh, Thanks. I was under the impression that Max 9 was the same as 2009. Wow I feel dumb now . Thanks for the help.

max 9 = max 9

max 10 = max 2008

max 11 = max 2009

max 12 = max 2010

Yay for marketing!

Hello guys,

I am hoping to find help here because I have been working on this issue for a whole week and I just can't figure it out. I look online also but none seams to have had experience the same problem. The thing is that I am rendering an interior scene with mr.daylight and mr.sky then when I apply GI what I get is a very intense green color on the photons, or very intense red.

Does anyone here knows what could be the problem with this? I would appreciate very much any advice.

Make sure you are not using architectural materials (arch&design is preferred) they have been known to cause issues.

This thread has quite a bit of of trouble shooting advice. You should check it out.

Also, why piggyback on this tread? It's not really related to your problem...

You're not alone.

I hear a lot of people referring to all autodesk 200x products simply as max 'x', revit 'x', or autocad 'x' etc. It's much less of a factor in autocad autocad though (version 9 is about 20 years old). Still confuses the issue with people from time to time.

I even had one guy argue with me a few weeks ago that I was just harrassing him over semantics because 9 really did equal 2009 and I was just trying to make him feel bad :)
