View Full Version : Problems with flicker - vray
rodrigoavicente 02-15-2009, 05:48 PM Hi guys,,
Iīm have some problems with flicker in my animations. I work with VIZ Architectural doing stillīs and flythrough of my projects. I use the 3DS Max and to render I use the V-ray.
The flicker happens at grass with displacement, plants and trees, any object very small and some textures...
Anybody knows how to resolve this problem???
Thankīs

I think this flicker happens from Gi Settings,. if your gonna use Qmc in Prim./Sec. Bounces you will not face that problem but it will take more time for rendering,. or you can save Irridiance solutions for some frames and combine it together in one solution.
I hope that is gonna help ya.

Hi sherifeid,
Use qmc as Prim and sec. bounce is not viable; itīs very slow. I use IR + QMC.
I save the IR Every Nth Frame = 30.
My settings is:
Min rate: -3
Max rate: -2
Hsph sub:50
Inter samples: 20
Crl tresh: 0,35
Nrm tresh: 0,35
Inter frames: 0,15
I tested a high settings too, but the problem continued.
Thanks

I just solved a similar problem in my render.
Try to increase the DMC value above 20.
Then play around with Min rate: and Max rate: to get more prepasses in your render.
I used Min rate:-5 and Max rate: 0 for a 640 x 480 render
Take a look at this page for how to calculate the min/max

Hope this help :)
